Important reminders:
Clothing should be tailored and well fit. Not baggy or too tight. Pick clothing that is industry appropriate. Layers add versatility. Bring a jacket or blazer for variety.

Clothing:
Choose a top that highlights your eyes and works well with your hair color and skin tone. Blues and greens photograph beautifully, but bold shades like fuchsia and royal blue can really pop, too. I can work with any color—including black or white—but the most important thing is that you feel confident and comfortable in what you’re wearing. Make sure your outfit fits well and is wrinkle-free (I have a steamer on hand). If you’re wearing a dark blazer or tie, choose a dress shirt with enough contrast. Keep jewelry simple to avoid distraction.

What to avoid:
-Busy prints or logos that pull attention away from your face
-Clingy fabrics
-If you want your headshot to last, go classic with clothing and jewelry and avoid anything that is too trendy.

Yes, I offer optional hair and make-up from a variety of professional freelance artists, most of whom I’ve worked with for over 5 years. Their fee is $175 for make-up and they stay for up to 2 hours of your shoot. Be specific with what you’re wanting with hair and make-up. Some artists charge extra for blow-outs and curls.

Important reminder: Always speak up right away if you don’t like your make-up or hair. You don’t want to start shooting if you’re not happy with how you look or don’t feel like yourself. I will also shoot a few frames and download them and have you view. That is also a good time to go over your hair, make-up, expressions, wardrobe, lighting and background and discuss any changes you would like made.

It depends on how many wardrobe changes you are doing and if you are using a make-up artist. For a one look shoot without make-up I block out one hour. (It doesn’t usually take that long but I block it out just in case.) For a two look shoot with a make-up artist, I would block out 2.5 hours. Timing varies but what’s important to me is that you don’t feel rushed and that we keep things moving.

Yes, I am frequently asked to match a companies current website photos and can usually match the style, background and lighting.

If it is on location for your company, I can photograph up to 80 people.

Yes, retouching is available. I outsource retouching, so pricing varies based on the level of work needed. I would plan on $40 per file for basic retouching. More advanced retouching will be quoted separately.

Basic retouching includes:
-Smoothing stray hairs.
-Softening lines under eyes and around mouth while still looking like yourself.
-Whitening your teeth.

More advanced retouching (that might include higher fees) includes
-Taking glare out of glasses. -Smoothing out wrinkles on clothing, if possible.
-Using a green screen and changing out backgrounds.
