Actor Headshots

I started Brian McConkey Photography in 1992 doing actor headshots, photographing over 200,000 actors in my almost 30 year career. My goal as a photographer is to help create a relaxed yet fun atmosphere so your unique personality shines thru. This collaboration helps create an actor headshot that can open doors for you and get you noticed by casting directors and agents, helping create in person opportunities for you. Once they choose to meet you in person, that’s your time for your talent to shine.  But first, let’s get a killer actor headshot.

“Ask anyone where to get your headshots done in Chicago and invariably Brian’s name is at the top of the list. Willing to work until you’re happy, and shoot whatever off the cuff idea either of you come up with that might be interesting- working with him is a true collaborative effort. Brian has a long standing reputation as of the one the best headshot photographers in Chicago for one simple reason- he remains one of the best headshot photographers in Chicago.

Allison Tolman
Golden Globe and Emmy nominated actor in Fargo.

The headshot is the actor’s most important tool – and one of the biggest investments an actor makes. It’s invaluable to not just get it right, but get it great. Brian’s experience and expertise are unmatched in Chicago and I especially appreciate his humor, creativity, and responsiveness before, during and after the shoot. I’ve trusted him with my pictures for over 20 years, what more can I say?

Janelle Snow
Acting teacher at DePaul, The Acting Studio, TV, film and theatre actor all over town with Goodman, Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, American Theatre Company, Eclipse, etc….

When I look back 20 years, Brian McConkey captured the essence of who I was at a time I was new to the business. That was essential in beginning the career I’m still proud to have this day.

Pat Healy
Actor in Cheap Thrills, Actor in Cheap Thrills, Rescue Dawn, Magnolia, Ghost World, The Innkeepers, etc..

Brian is a consummate host, setting his subject at ease with music and atmosphere, to get a killer shot. He actually once made me look handsome! 1994, look it up.

Nick Offerman
